The staff (Enrique, Christina, and Gabriela) were extremely helpful and did everything they could to ensure our experience was amazing. Nick, the owner, was very helpful in providing a history of the hacienda and the area! My favorite parts of Hacienda Cusin included: the hot water bottle in bed each night, the fireplace in each room, and having a different meal at every meal! I also enjoyed the funny murals all over the courtyard and the staircase up to the roof to view Imbabura volcano! Make sure you try to find the hidden room! Overall, it was an incredible place to stay, and I hope to return some day! read less

From the amazing dinner we ate at the hotel to the hot water bottle that was in my bed when I retired for the evening. Truly an inviting place to spend a night, where the staff is dedicated to catering to any and all of your needs. If you are planning on experiencing the animal and craft market in Otavalo - stay here! read less

The location dates back to 1602, a restored 17th century estate in the Ecuadorian Sierra that remains on beautiful rolling hills and country side where one can ride horses or take a walk in the gardens and sanctuary. It is surrounded by beautiful rose nurseries. We stayed in a cottage among the gardens. It was quiet and peaceful and we would wake to the sites of the hummingbirds in the gardens. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. The food was magnificent. It is close to many of the beautiful areas of Ecuador so day trips and or excursions to Paramo, Cotopaxi , the Amazon and Galapagos among more are all possible. Additionally, the location offers many on-site activities such as horseback and Spanish lessons. I definitely plan to return. read less
